SIMON SCOTT - Legal Recruitment Consultant
SIMON SCOTT - Legal Recruitment Consultant, Simon originally hails from the cold North East of England and read law at Queens’ College, Cambridge University before training, qualifying and practising as an employment lawyer in Manchester.

He moved into legal recruitment in 1996 and gained five years’ experience at three long-established specialist legal recruitment companies in London (Hughes Castell), Bristol (Chadwick Nott) and Manchester.

He then founded and ran his own legal recruitment company for four years during which time it opened offices in Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Reading.

More recently he lived and worked in Andalucia in Spain for a number of years before moving to Grand Cayman and joining CML in order to utilise his extensive legal recruitment experience in the highly appealing environment of the Caribbean.

Simon enjoys golf, swimming and cycling around the beautiful and tranquil east end of the island but as a result is regarded as something of an oddity by his colleagues for choosing to live more than a short commuting distance from the office.

LAURA MUNYARD - Recruitment Administrator
LAURA MUNYARD - Recruitment Administrator, Laura was brought up in the Cayman Islands and returned home after graduating with a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Language from King's College London.

She worked as a writer and assistant editor for REALlife, a real estate and interior design magazine, and then returned to the bright lights of London for three years where she worked at the Cayman Islands Government Office before becoming Recruitment Administrator at Maples and Calder's London office. The sunshine of home soon beckoned again and she returned and took up her post as Recruitment Administrator for the legal team at CML in September 2009.

Ben Cooper
Ben Cooper – In-House Legal and Compliance Recruitment, Asia Pacific.Ben joined CML in early 2010 and specializes in in-house legal and compliance positions. Originally from England, Ben obtained a BA (Hons) in Philosophy from the University of Essex in 2003, before spending the majority of 2004 travelling throughout Thailand. On his return to England, Ben completed the CPE (Graduate Diploma in Law) at the University of Sussex and undertook his Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law, being called to the Bar in 2006.

Having decided his skill set was more suited to a consultative, rather than adversarial environment, Ben trained as a recruitment consultant with Law Professionals (a division of the Hydrogen Group plc) in London and specialized in in-house placements of mid-level and senior lawyers. His success meant that he was approached to establish and manage a legal recruitment division with Goodman Masson in London. Having firmly cemented his team as one of the foremost private practice and in-house legal recruiters in the City of London he once again felt the call of Asia.

Ben moved to Hong Kong with the intention of further establishing CML as a leading in-house legal and compliance recruiter across the Asia Pacific region. He recruits for clients ranging from SMEs to blue chip corporations and works on roles ranging from Legal Counsel to General Counsel and from Compliance Officer to Head of Legal & Compliance.

In his spare time Ben enjoys creative writing, a range of sports, performing as master of ceremonies at various musical evenings and acting.
