If you dream of moving to an exotic island, here’s the thing: It’s not that hard to do! I’ve borrowed this concept from an article from Joe Yogerst on the five best islands to live on. Here it is for Cayman…
The Cayman Islands
Three sister islands located south of Cuba and northwest of Jamaica. The first sighting was recorded by Christopher Columbus on his final voyage to the New World. Originally named Las Tortugas, after the sea turtles the islands have since been known as Cayman after caiman, meaning crocodile.
Why move here?
Once known as “the islands that time forgot”, the Cayman Islands have a tropical climate, beautiful beaches and sunsets, delicious food and cocktails, and allow you to earn a tax free income. The Cayman Islands offer one of the highest standards of living in the Caribbean.
Meet the neighbours
The population is diverse and multicultural, with many nationalities being represented.
You know it’s an island when…
Everyone operates on ‘Cayman time’ (30 minutes behind the actual time). And one little car accident gridlocks the whole island. Okay, I might be exaggerating a tiny bit but you get the idea…
Direct flights to Miami, Chicago, Havana…
Size: 101 square miles
Population: 57 000
So what are you waiting for? We obviously think the Cayman Islands are among the best but why not browse some of the others?
