There are exciting networking and fibre projects afoot in the Cayman Islands. Developments that are designed to put Cayman above 90% of the world’s markets; more importantly much of the modernised world in network and cable infrastructure.

For those unaware, several organisations in Cayman have licenses for Fibre to the Home (FTTH) networks. Some likely to use existing power cables and others, like WestStar in the attached article, trenching and installing their own fibre. http://www.compasscayman.com/caycompass/2012/05/07/WestStar-starts-fibre-network-rollout/

The project involves installing a gigabit passive optical network (GPON) which promises to provide not only improved quality of service but also improved reliability.

What better time to install such telephonic and data advances with the CEC driving forward its commerciality and in a position to benefit from extra speed, reliability and bandwidth.

I am currently looking for work in fibre optic and network cabling. I have been working in the industry for over five years however have not received any qualifications. I have funding available for courses and qualifications if I can find a company willing to take me on. Do you know who I would have to contact about jobs and do you think they would be interested in taking me on.
    Thank you for your time,
