It certainly looks like the initial rumours were right about M3 and Cellular One in Bermuda. Just last week any prospective takeover / merger talk was shelved, however as of today it was announced these two of the three Cell Phone Providers in Bermuda will be merging, thereby inheriting approximately 50% of the market share.

According to the article in the Bermuda Royal Gazette, http://www.royalgazette.com/article/20110503/NEWS/110509968/0/jobs Cellular One will retain naming rights and the managing team, although allegedly there will be little or no impact on jobs.

Either way, it’s an interesting development for what was a relatively stagnated market place, given the size of the Island and the infrastructure available. What was also interesting was that KeyTech (current parent company of M3) in no way saw this as an exit from the wireless market.
