Job Description:
This role is a high profile one and offers an exceptional opportunity to the right candidate to help shape knowledge management provision for this busy office.
We welcome applications from professionals who have qualified as a solicitor or barrister, or have experience as a PSL or paralegal, in addition to clear experience of KM techniques at a practice level. If this experience has been gained in an Offshore or Financial Services practice, that’s ideal but a desire to take up an influential role as a Knowhow expert is paramount.
You will work closely with professional support lawyers and fee earners across the practice areas to coordinate the development of local precedents and practice support materials, monitor legislative, case law and other legal developments and provide regular updates for the KM bulletins. The position holder is expected to attend practice group know how meetings on a regular basis and report to each meeting on recent developments.
In particular, you will be responsible for Knowhow capture and development and the management of KM initiatives, knowledge resources and services within their jurisdiction. As post holder, you will be expected to initiate, lead and examine best practice in your domain.
To be successful in this role you will need to be proactive, results-oriented, have excellent communication and inter-personal skills
Specific skills and experience required are:
(a) The ability to work with and influence stakeholders and colleagues, including excellent negotiation, persuasion and presentation skills;
(b) Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to clearly and accurately convey information and ideas;
(c) A good understanding of business processes and change management;
(d) A strong client service ethos and high service delivery standards;
(e) Able to demonstrate drive and enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence in client service;
(f) Knowledgeable within their specialist area and able to assume further specific knowledge quickly and confidently;
(g) An in depth appreciation of IT and its utilisation in the firm's environment.
You will be Jersey based, occasional travel to other offices may be required and you will be part of a Global function. Assistance can be available for relocation, if required.
