Location: The Channel Islands are an archipelago of islands off the coast of France in the English Channel and are Crown Dependencies of The United Kingdom. 
 

Description: The main islands are Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm, and with the other smaller islands make up a total area of 194 sq km. 

 
 
Climate: Temperate with mild damp cloudy winters and warm drier sunnier summers. 

 
 
Population: Guernsey has a population of about 65,000, and Jersey has about 90,000 people. 
 

Official Language(s): English, French



Government: Guernsey and Jersey have separate parliaments.



Currency: GBP 



Income Tax: Flat rate of 20%, set by occupying Germans in WWII.
