Expatriate Population: There is a small but active expatriate community where you will make friends quickly through business, social events and sports teams.
 
Sports Clubs:  Practically every sport you can think of has an association in Shanghai and there is also the opportunity to learn Chinese sports such as martial arts or Dragon Boat Racing.
 
Transportation: Shanghai has the world's most extensive bus system and the longest metro network in the world. All public transport can be accessed using a universal Shanghai Public Transportation Card. Taxis are also abundant and inexpensive.
 
Accommodation:  There are suburbs in both Pudong and Puxi for families, depending on what type of experience you would like to have - Puxi is more cultural, whilst Pudong has newer developments, Those moving without children may want to consider downtown Shanghai, for proximity to work and the nightlife. Rent can range anywhere between US$1000 and $15,000 per month.
