The Republic of Singapore is made up of 63 islands located off the southern tip of the Malay peninsula in South-east Asia. it has a diverse history as a trading post and former British Territory, but is most recently known as one of the four Asian Tigers and the world's fourth leading financial centre.
 
Over half the population in Chinese and the rest of the population is mostly made up of Indian and Malay, giving Singapore 4 official languages, English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Singapore enjoys a high standard of living and is considered a shopper's heaven with one of its larges malls amassing over 1 million sq. feet of retail space.
