Located in the Eastern Caribbean, to the east of Puerto Rico, the BVI is comprised of four main islands - Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke - and over 50 smaller islands and cays. With over 40% of the world's offshore companies being formed in the British Virgin Islands, the BVI enjoys one of the most prosperous economies of the Caribbean and is ranked as having the 11th highest GDP in the world. Tourism and financial services are the 'Twin Pillars' of the BVI's economy.

The BVI has managed to delicately balance a strong economy with a quintessential Caribbean lifestyle. The pristine white sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters make for excellent diving, snorkelling, surfing and sailing. Residents of the islands take pride in the history and heritage of their islands and celebrate it with festivals, music, folklore and art.
