CV/Resume Writing Tips
Introduction
In North America (including Bermuda and the Caribbean) it is generally known as a resume. In the UK and most of the Commonwealth, it is known as a Curriculum Vitae or "CV" for short (Latin for "way of life"). Whatever you call it, this is undeniably one of the most important documents you will prepare in your life.
This section aims to help you develop an outstanding resume that will maximize your chances of being selected for an interview, and in turn, an offer of employment.
Times change
You likely have an existing resume that has served you well in the past. Don't rest on your laurels, there's always room for improvement. Preferred formats change from one year to the next and as your career progresses. "Updating your resume" doesn't mean simply adding your most recent job.

Your resume will be your introduction to each prospective employer and is often your one and only chance to convince them to interview you. The difference between a great and mediocre resume can mean the difference between a great and mediocre offer.
Put in some hours for yourself for a change
You may think nothing of putting in an 80 hour week, if you felt it would help your career, and yet consider preparing a resume a waste of perfectly good leisure time. Preparing an accurate, well presented resume is probably one of the highest value activities you will undertake during your entire career. Don't grudge yourself a day's work; see it as an investment in your future.
